Finding Shelter Animal Rescue started on January 1, 2010 and our first year was a huge success! When we started our all-volunteer rescue, we knew that we could not do it without the help of many people in the community. Not only is Jay Clark an incredible singer and songwriter, but he is also a lover of animals, especially Finding Shelter's! Jay traveled from his home in the mountains of Tennessee all the way up to Pennsylvania just for Finding Shelter! On October 2, 2010 we held our first fundraiser and it was a HUGE success! What could be more fun than helping homeless animals and enjoying great wine? We can't think of anything better! Carol and Jim Kirkpatrick have been so generous to allow Finding Shelter dogs to meet potential families at the vineyard and at the dog-friendly tasting room in downtown West Chester, PA. Progressive Dog Training
Wendy Young of Progressive Dog Training is the best gentle methods dog trainer in the region and we are so fortunate to have her leading the way for dog training and behavior at Finding Shelter. Not only does Wendy provide assistance to our volunteers, a foster home for some of our dogs and gentle methods instruction to our dogs at events but she also offers a lifetime of free phone consultations to all of our adopters. As Wendy always says, "you can send any dog to a new home, but keeping them there is a different story." We are so lucky to have Wendy helping us!
Radnor Veterinary Hospital
Dr. Len Donato, Dr. Kim Bowers, and Dr. Jeffrey Stanzo are some of the leaders in veterinary care in the region. Their stellar care of our animals and wonderful service allow us to keep our animals healthy and happy. Their support of our rescue includes adoptions to some of the staff! We don't know what we would do without Radnor!
